And the award goes too……

The ramblings of a crazy mom awarded me with this lovely award today :)

The rules of the “One Lovely Blog Award” are:
Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
I could not pick 15, partly because I think most of my blog buddies have this award, but I think you deserve to get it twice so everyone who reads my blog or I read theirs grab your award

I need a nap

Is it sad that this

image

is all I want to do all day ??  I have been so tired lately and all I want to do is lay around and do absolutely nothing not to mention the thought of school starting back in less than a month makes me feel like this lady

 image

a little anxious and like I want to pull my hair out.

Shouldn’t my child feel this way and not me.  I detest waking up early for school days, why can’t they start at like 10 a.m., I mean is that asking too much?  They need to think about us, ya know the SAHM’s who want to sleep in and would not mind for the school hours to be 10-4 then we could watch GH without interruptions… not that I would be home to watch it since i volunteer at the school most days, still I would like the 10 a.m. start time.

This is also the first year my son has to take FCAT and I am not looking forward to it….what was wrong with the good ole SAT’s every couple years??  I really detest this test and my son has not even taken it yet.

Don’t get me started on school shopping.  My son has outgrown almost all of his clothes, I made him try on everything in his closet and dresser over the weekend.  We ended up with 2 pairs of pants and 10 shirts that may or may not fit once school starts when we were done. Thank goodness I had just bought him some shorts and a couple t-shirts. Lets hope he does not have a growth spurt in the next 30 days.. That still means I have to hit the store once it starts getting chilly, he has no winter clothes.  I am not sure about the school supply list, when he came home the last day of school he had a bag full of stuff he never opened so hopefully I will only have to buy some stuff here and there for that.

I am starting to see why a lot of ya’ll home school.  No early mornings, the kids and you can wear your pj’s all day if you want (ie: no school shopping) and no FCAT.

Oh wouldn’t that be the life, if I had enough patience I might give it a go.

Ouchie

Ginger got stung by something yesterday and came hauling butt squealing like a pig the whole way from the back of our yard.  At first I checked her body over, because usually with her poor vision she will step on a wasp on accident, but I could not find a stinger so I put her down and she seemed fine.  Then about 5 minutes later while I was on the phone with my sister-n-law I noticed this and about freaked out.

P1050017 P1050022

Since this is her only eye I get very nervous if anything happens to it … she occasionally runs into trees going full speed due to her vision and I have major freak outs about that as well.. I called the Emergency Vet and they told me to give her children’s benadryl and just wait and see.  I also tried to put a cool rag on it, but she was having no part of that.

At first she was following me everywhere, but once the meds kicked in she was a little sleepy and decided it was time for a siesta.

P1050023

By 9 or so it had gone down quite a bit, but was still puffy and really swollen under the lower lid which made me nervous. Hubs of course said she would be fine.

Hubs gave her more meds at 11 and this morning it looks to be fine, still a touch puffy, but not like yesterday.  Due to the swelling yesterday I could not see where she had been stung, but today I can see it was on her lower eye lid, so you know that had to hurt.

P1050026 P1050029

I am so glad all she needed was benadryl and some rest, those vet bills for her eye can be a bit pricey…but for Ginger I would do anything☺.

(Her eye is always cloudy from her accident …It's all about the Dog.....)

Pranksters

P1040542

See this huge monstrosity behind my son.  Well there are two of them and the neighbors that used to live in the house next to me planted them for reasons unknown to any of us, they were not very friendly people. I have hated these stupid pampas grass bushes ever since and so have all of my neighbors.  No matter how many times you tell the kids to stay away from them they won’t and they all end up with paper cuts, or the kids get a hold of the feathery plumes they grow and make a mess not to mention snakes love to hide in these things.

Well our current neighbors are great and they hated the bushes as well and for a long time they thought the bushes were in our yard, but when we told them they were actually his or we would have taken them down he decided they needed to go. A couple weeks ago he started to cut it back so it could be taken down, but it has been raining and my neighbor hates snakes and had already seen one coming out of the bush, so they still had not been removed.

So on Saturday night while I was inside with my friend Diane my neighbors John and Suzanne and hubby were sitting outside chatting and my neighbor Suzanne thought it would be pretty funny if they dug up one of the bushes and put it in the middle of our neighbors yard.  I had no clue what they were doing, but I kept hearing trucks and our lawn mower.  From what I was told it was not easy rolling this thing across the yard, hubs actually wanted to put it on their door step, but it was really heavy. Our neighbor had no clue they were doing this, they thought my husband was mowing the grass at 10 p.m.

Me and my friend Diane came outside later and saw this.  P1040901The next morning when we were leaving for church Brad went out and talked to our neighbor and he got a laugh out of it..  Seems their son came in Saturday night and was like there is a bush in the middle of our yard, they both shrugged it off and did not think twice about it til they woke up Sunday morning and took a double take when they went outside and saw it sitting there.

0719091321-01 So last night they were discussing what to do with it, at first they talked about burning it, but we all feared we would catch the neighborhood on fire so they decided to cut it up and then proceeded to take the other one down.

It was really hot, so immediately after the ceremony we all went and stood in the water, I wish I had a picture of the Bride in the water.

My Sister-n-law and Brother-n-law went on the trip with us which was fun

Diet What Diet

I made an awesome sandwich last night and I think you all should try, Go over to here for the recipe. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was too busy stuffing my face.

image

I did not have the pepper bacon so I put some cracked black pepper on regular bacon and after my mini melt down when I realized I did not have the lemon pepper I thought I had, I used Italian spices, season salt and some lemon juice and put them in a bag to marinate instead. I also used cheddar cheese kaiser rolls from the bakery. It was Delish..

Weekend Happenings

Our weekend started out with a birthday party Bub had been invited to for a friend from school.  This was my statement afterwards:

“Home from the party..there were tears, Bub made a new friend and did not want to leave. I seriously am thinking about sending his friends gifts via the mail and skipping parties all together... The drama of leaving a party exhausts me.”

We spent the rest of the day resting from all the drama and chatting with neighbors.

Yesterday we woke-up to late for church:

“Awake 9:45 a.m., set the alarm for church and hubby turned it off thinking he was hitting snooze. Errrrrr”

So I went outside and read my Bible in the sunshine and then came in and listened to Bub’s DVD Bible:

“Been listening to Bub's children's Bible DVD all day now I have this song stuck in my head: Father Abraham, had many sons; Many sons had father Abraham, And I am one of them, And so are you, So let's just praise the Lord”

I had ordered a storage bench for the pool stuff, so Brad put that together and then we moved it to the back porch and proceeded to try and figure out where we were going to put it.  After about 30 minutes of:

“what about there"?”

“no I don’t like it there”

“well what about here?”

“no it will get to much sun and then who will sit on it for fear of burning their bum”

I decided to take a swim while hubs rested his eyes on the back porch so we could ponder some more.  Here is the finished product.

The dog house used to be here, but now it is where all the pool stuff is and the new bench.  One day when out deck is built for out pool it will go on it :) Ya know someday image .

P1040887

We moved Ginger’s dog house so it gets more shade and it is near here favorite Lizard and Squirrel hunting spot.  Look at our Lilies they are doing famously well.

P1040890

Our Patio is less cluttered, even though I still think some more stuff needs to go. Ginger Likes it.

P1040892

Brad moved his fire pit and charcoal grill to the corner where eventually he will have a Grill Station and a fire pit that is in the ground.  Ya know somedayimage.

 P1040888

Bub ended up having a friend stay over last night and it was all fun and games til bedtime when they would not fall asleep so I had to separate them since it was going on 11 and mama needed some shut eye.

And as for our Monday morning I just have one question----

Why is my son eating pancakes

P1040893

And I am eating this????

P1040896

And Just Because, look at our Basil. We had to move it to a bigger pot because it is doing so well :)

P1040886 And some quotes to ponder:
“Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there”
“We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

Have a Great Monday
