Merry Late Christmas

Did not get a chance to get on here yesterday.  Had a wonderful Christmas morning, very early, but wonderful. Then I got slapped with a Migraine out of nowhere right after Lunch with the Family…No Bueno.

I hope you and yours had a very blessed Christmas day.

No no

Our daily word for Tilda lately is no no or huh ahhh.

Tilda is still testing the waters with the Christmas tree even with the trip wire Bub put in place. She stays right on the outside of it and pretends she is staring at the lights.

Normal clothes are the best

Guess what I did yesterday
I wore regular clothes on my outing to Tarjay and various other stores...not my glorified Jammie's with yoga pants.

Thank you Amy for being my Jennysitter and chauffeur for the day

Grieving The Womb

It's definitely not easy, but necessary.

I was prepared for this.

I knew it was coming.

But it still came unexpectedly.

I was talking to my husband about something Bub did as a baby last night and wham.

The memories of him & my angel babies in my tummy were over whelming.

Tearing up just thinking about it again.

I know I made the right decision, but it is still definitely hard some days.

I read this website & this one and they helped.  Although I did not have an emergency hysterectomy as these women did I feel the pain of loss and I commend them for sharing their journey.

Hystersisters of course also had a lot of insight as they always do.

I know I will get past this and I have my family behind me with all of their support.  The teary eyes will pass and joy will fill it's place.  I am just taking it day by day.

Often you've wondered why,

Tears come into your eyes,

And burdens seem to be

Much more than you can stand.

But God is standing near,

He see your falling tears.

Tears are a language,

God understands.

When grief has left you low,

It causes tears to fall,

For things may not turn out

The way that you have planned.

But God won't forsake you now,

His promises are true.

Tears are a language,

God understands.

God sees the tears,

Of a brokenhearted soul,

He sees the tears,

And hears them when they fall.

God weeps along with men,

And takes them by the hand.

Tears are a language,

God understands.

I'm Freeeeeee

Not really just went on my first outing yesterday..Woot Woot

My mom was my Jennysitter for the outing.

Thank goodness it was a short trip because I started feeling faint on the last isle. I came home and resumed my weekly position in the recliner.

Today I will take on the world or maybe just the check up at the Dr

Bored - Yep that's me

But I am alive -To the theme of Celine Dion
Love love that song

Been doing good. A lot of sitting and computing hence the glasses.

I go for daily walks to so I am not a total lazy bones.

I do a lot of time sleeping as well. Good thing this is Ginger's favorite hobby. Isn't she too cute sleeping with her skunky baby (she put that up there herself and then passed slap out)

The girls have been loving momma having snacks and lunch in the recliner.

They think it is a perfect opportunity to look cute and beg for scraps, which they get a little because they are to cute. Who could resist?

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Must Haves

Or a list of things I think are helpful if you ever have to go through this.

1. First and foremost- A loving and supportive group of people around you before and after the operation.  Without my family and friends I would be in the fetal position crying most days.  They have been my rock of support through this whole thing.
&

2. A Body Pillow - This kind not the straight kind.  You will need it in the hospital and at home.
Boppy Total Body Pillow
3. A Rice Pack- for your back and for your shoulders when the gas rises to your shoulders from surgery.
Carex Bed Buddy Hot/Cold Pack
4. Massager - also for back and shoulders
Homedics PM-50 Hand Held Mini Massager with Hand Grip, Battery Operated (Colors May Vary)

5. Yoga Pants - These are wonderful, because they have the core support waist already in them.
SO Yoga Pants - Juniors' Plus

6. Cute night shirts - you can pair these with your yoga pants for a comfy outfit so you feel semi-normal. I have both...thanks Amy xoxo

Croft and Barrow Love Spell Crochet Nightgown

7. Comfy Shoes - to go with nightshirt and yoga pants if you want to go outside for your daily walk or ya know the grocery store because seriously who cares right.
8 & 9. Ginger ale & Saltines - They go hand in hand and are a must with the meds they give you.

10. Last but not least a sports bra or one of the many they advertise on TV.  You don't want people to stop by to check on you and your girls are flying all over the place...

p.s. you will need this.  Just keeping it real. Take it with you to the hospital.

Rough weekend, but getting better

Hit a bit of a rough patch this weekend. Probably because I started to cut back on the pain meds Thursday and could actually feel the internal pain more. Spent most of the weekend in bed resting.

Today started out rough as well with a headache and nausea, but by 11 I was feeling a little better.

Here is what I will be doing today (I am guessing it was resting)

Oh lordy I need a tan and some make-up.

Tilda has been sticking close to Momma and thoroughly enjoys the bucket the nurse sent home with me in case I got car sick.

Ginger on the other hand does not understand why she can't sit with Momma and Tilda can. Here she is having a pity party.

She got over it, but with a sad face ;)

My Jennysitter this week is my parents. Could only get a picture of my Mom. They have been great thru this whole healing process.

Some funny hystersisters advice

This article is pretty funny
15 things we have learned after hysterectomy.
Here are some highlights I think are great:

WalMart (ie: Hellmart depending on who you ask ;)---Just Say NO! New Princesses should avoid WalMart like the plague!!! There is something like a black hole in that store that will suck you in with its seductive charms, then spit you out in pain with your knees buckling and a cold sweat on your brow! Resist the pull...new sheets, cute sandals, and toilet brushes are just not worth it. If you're not well enough to be at work, you're not well enough to be at WalMart. Besides, if one of those 'falling prices' hits you on the head, you could get amnesia and forget where you parked the car you weren't supposed to be driving yet.

If you watch too many cooking shows on TV, you gain weight just from the power of suggestion. Or maybe it's from the calories being transferred by osmosis through the TV screen.

Chocolate IS one of the major food groups, and a new Princess can knock off a carton of chocolate Heavenly Hash ice cream faster than it can melt in the microwave.

Friends who say, "Call me anytime." are never home. EVER!

Men go through MENopause too, and they often choose our recovery time in which to do it. Another attempt to make themselves the center of attention?

In a Brain Fog moment, before looking all over the house for your sunglasses: check the top of your head first!

Don't fool yourself into thinking that you'll never get bored with "Lifetime for Women" movies.

I survived

This was when I had a hysterectomy as noted below I did all my blogging through the blogpress app and my pictures went poof which is super freaking annoying since I like to have them hear as a scrapbook :(

Waiting to be taken back

After the surgery. This is at night, I was not up for pictures earlier in the day.
The lighting is bad and I am on pain meds so disregard how hideous I look ;)

On our way home.

Only had to stay one night in the hospital-score.
I am home and resting. Still in pain, but all in all I feel better then I thought I would.

As Prepared As I Can Be

I am having surgery tomorrow and I have been perplexed about the whole thing for a while, but this morning my son started off a conversation with this:

Bub:"Mom were your 3 angel babies before or after I was born."

Me: "After why?"

Bub: "I was just reading that sign you put up yesterday how Jesus was such a big miracle in such a small child, kinda like me huh."

Me: "Yes"

Bub:"I think I am glad I am an only child."

And that my friends was like having a conversation with my child and God all at the same time.

I have been praying for some clarity with this surgery and now I have it. I was really worried because my son had a mini melt down about 3 weeks ago about not having a brother or sister. I almost cancelled the whole thing. I had decided living in pain was better then breaking his heart. But then reality set in and it would not matter if I had all my parts or not I would not be able to grant that wish unless I adopted a child. So off I go tomorrow to have the big ole

Hysteria-ectomy as one blogger likes to call it.

I have been preparing and the HysterSisters website has provided a lot of insight.

Check List:
Christmas present are wrapped
House is clean
Over night bag is almost packed (thanks to hystersisters and my friend Shannyn's list)
Various lists thru out the house for my son, husband and Mom
Nerves are in check for the moment

Until ya know the big freak out which should come later this evening....

Pray for my husband because I am gonna be Miss grouchy pants when I wake up

Pumpkin butterscotch yummies

I found this recipe for pumpkin butterscotch muffins over at the frugal girls

I could not find my ground ginger which I swear I bought so I had to use the minced ginger I had in the fridge which worked fine. I also added a dash of cloves because my other pumpkin muffin recipe calls for it and they are super yummy.

They turned out delish and with a great cup of coffee it was the perfect start to this chilly morning.

Damaged Goods

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” Psalm 51:17 (NIV, 1984)

I walked down the aisle of the discount grocery looking for a bargain that I couldn’t live without. It’s always hit and miss in this store…and I had missed…again.
But, I passed by a bin that caught my eye. “Damaged Goods.” It was filled with dented cans and missing labels…no real rhyme or reason, just random items that were not shelf worthy. And suddenly, I knew just how they felt.
Life sometimes delivers the unexpected. Lessons learned in the school of hard knocks bruise us, dent us and remove the label that defines who we are. We feel as if we have been tossed into a bin, no longer worthy of a place on the shelf. Some people substantiate the lie that we are second class failures and all hope is gone.
So, I leaned over and intentionally chose a dented can with no label from the bin. I got it home and placed it on the can opener with anxious anticipation. The whirr of the can opener finally penetrated the metal lid to reveal….peaches!!! I let out a school girl squeal! I love peaches!! What a treat to open this can and be greeted by one of my favorite fruits. The can was damaged but the contents were still good…and sweet.
God must have smiled…because at that moment the sunshine beamed in my kitchen window. I knew in my heart there was a lesson.
I have been damaged. We all have to some degree. I am not living the life that I dreamed about when I was a kid. However, the damage that I have suffered has made the contents of my heart so much sweeter, so much more compassionate, so much more in pursuit of Jesus. I have been looked down upon and judged by many who have seen my label missing and slapped on their own.
I’ve wanted to say, “Don’t judge too quickly. My damage has not defined me…but, it is refining me.” I may sometimes be at the bottom of the life’s bin, but Jesus paid as high a price for those of us at the bottom as He did for those that are proudly displayed on the top shelf.
Look around. Is there someone in your life, your family or your church that you consider “damaged goods”? Don’t miss an opportunity to reach out to them, to love them. You just might find a friendship that is good…and sweet.

Dear Lord, my life hasn’t turned out exactly turned out like I thought it would. But, I know that
You can still use me. Please forgive me for labeling others and judging them by their outside circumstances instead of the work that You are doing in their heart. Help me realize that we all have dents but that’s what keeps us desperate for a Savior. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
