Paula Choice Clear Line Review

I received this from Bzz Agent free to try on May 20th. I did a little first impression/comparison to proactiv HERE

Me and Bub were the test subjects. We both gave it a fair shake for two weeks. I saw no major difference in my skin and Bub's actually got worse around his nose and chin.

That was the end for Bub using it because being a teenager and dealing with crazy breakouts at the end of the school year was not cool so back to proactiv he went!

I on the other hand decided to give it another two weeks because I tend to think it takes about 4 weeks to really know if a skin care system really works.

Well I still saw no difference and actually started to break out on my cheeks which is not normal for me.
I have oily/combo skin with occasional breakouts plus some dark spots ←Fun Right ;P

So in a nut shell this line did not work well with my skin but a lot of people swear by it so it might work for you.

The first step which was the Pore Nourishing Cleanser to me left much to be desired. It just did not feel like it was cleaning my skin very well. Maybe I am just used to a more exfoliating cleanser.

I did like the second step which was the Anti Redness Exfoliating Solution which contains 2% Salicyclic acid, but I think that is because it is identical in ingredients to the BHA liquid Paula's Choice sells which I absolutely love.

The third step which was the Daily Skin Clearing Treatment with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide was kind of irritating to my skin which is weird cause proactiv has the same dosage in theirs and I don't have a problem??

I still think Paula's Choice has some awesome products like their BHA's so definitely check them out.

TLC Voxbox breakdown

I received my TLC Infuenster Voxbox about a week ago in the mail.

This box is geared more toward Mom's and it came with 6 items to try out for free.

The first product I tried was Ivory soap. I was not able to use this soap growing up because my skin is super sensitive to soaps and laundry detergents. Well guess what it still is. This stuff gave me a kind of heat rash on my arms so sensitive skin users beware. But my husband has been using it with no problems and he likes it.
Ivory Soap: Retails for $3.99 for a 10 pack

Next up was Puffs Plus tissues for on the go. I love these things and have for a long time. So much so I even have a cat carrying case for them in my car. They are so convenient, don't irritate my skin and the cute packaging is a plus as well.
Puffs Plus Lotion To Go: Retails for $.49 per pack

Next is for the crazy Mom who carries every first aid product with her everywhere she goes. That would be me! I did not even need to open the new Neosporin To Go cause I already have several. I love this stuff. I always carry a couple of band aids and this in my purse because you never know when you are going to trip over your own  two feet and need first aid. ← clumsy party of one ;)
Neosporin To Go: Retails for around $4.97-$7.50

I was very intrigued by this next product. It is the ANew Reversalist Complete Renewel Express Wrinkle Smoother. Say that 10 times fast!! It is a finishing cream to powder skin perfecter. You can wear it over moisturizer and makeup. Basically you get some product on your fingers then press it into any problematic wrinkles. I don't have bad wrinkles but the little crows feet I do have this worked as it says. So I would definitely check it out. I also love the packaging because it is very convenient to throw in your purse.
Avon Reversalist Complete Renewal Express: Retails for $30.00

The next item is the Shell Fuel Rewards card. You know that thing they try to explain to you at the pump and you always hit mute. Guilty!! This is free to join and I could link my grocery fuel perks card to it so I was pretty happy about that. I already used it once and saved money...score!
Shell Fuel Rewards is free to join

Last but not least I have already talked about in a earlier blog. This Breyers Gelato is sooooooo good. I just can not say enough good things about it. It is so creamy and I swear it is like eating cold yummy frosting. It comes in three flavors: vanilla caramel, raspberry cheesecake & tiramisu which is what I got.
Breyers Gelato: Retails for $4.49-$5.99
But I must warn you this stuff can be very dangerous to your thighs during swimsuit season ☺!

Belated Fathers Day Dinner

I was not feeling so hot on Father's Day so I stayed in my Jammie's most of the day while hubby and Bub went to visit with his Dad.

But I made up for it last night and we had a day after Father's Day dinner for my Dad and my hubby.

On the menu was lasagna, garlic bread & salad.

Sorry no pics of salad and garlic bread. The Lasagna was the show stopper anyway LOL!!

And for dessert we had a s'mores cake. I did not want to deal with individual cupcakes ;)

All of it was sooo yummy!

Wanna guess what's for lunch today :)

Love my Daddy and was glad my parents got to come over and enjoy this meal with us ;)

Makeup Monday- June Ipsy Glam Bag

It's that time of the month.
Well not that time of the month ;)

It's Time For the June Ipsy Glam Bag Unboxing It's really in a bag so more of a unbagging..

This month's theme is Pretty In Paradise

First item was a Be A Bombshell mascara called Lash Out. I did not open this because I have several mascaras I need to use and I did not want it to dry out but you can see what the wand looks like on their site. It retails for $15.00

Be A Bombshell Lash Out

The next product was a shimmer eyeliner from Nicka K New York. I received it in green and it is very pretty. This retails for $4.99

Nicka K New York Shimmer Liner

The first photo is the swatch and the second is after I let it dry and then rubbed it like crazy. It has great staying power.

I put it on today and it was a little bold at first for my taste, but once I smudged it out it was a very pretty sea green color.

Next up is a Dream Waves Beach Spray for your hair from Marc Anthony. Let me just say this smells like tropical yumminess. I am all about coconut and pineapple smells in the summer so I was sold on the smell. This retails for $8.99 at Ulta.

Marc Anthony Beach Spray
It says you can apply it to wet or dry hair. I applied it to dry hair and it did give it that messy beachy type hair but I am hoping for a better outcome with wet hair. Again though it smells amazing!

I also received a NYX Butter Gloss in the color Eclair. I already have three NYX butter glosses in different colors so I knew I would love this. I mean they smell like baked goods so what is not to love. They retail for $5, but Ulta is always having BOGO 1/2 off sales on NYX so I try to grab them when they are on sale.

NYX Buttergloss

Last but not least was a deluxe sample of DERMAdoctor DD cream. It claims to have 15 healthy skin benefits and white sapphire complex that leaves your skin healthy and gorgeous. We shall see!! Full size retails for $38.00.

DERMAdoctor DD cream

It has a tint to it

and it feels nice on the skin

It did leave a nice finish but maybe a little to dewy for my oily skin.

I would say that was a pretty good bag with 3 full size products, 1 mini product and 1 deluxe sample. Can't beat it.

Ipsy is a $10 monthly subscription.

Watcha Cookin: Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

I found this recipe on Facebook for un-stuffed cabbage rolls. I love cabbage rolls so I figured it was worth a shot.

click the picture for the all recipes recipe
(their's calls  for reg salt where this one calls for sea salt which is pretty much the only difference)

I used a 15 oz can of tomato sauce instead of 8 oz & skipped the 1/2 c water

I started by chopping the cabbage and onions and getting all my ingredients in one place!

Browned my beef and cooked down the onions then added in the garlic.

I did not make this all in the skillet because I just don't see how that would work. Next time I think I will make it all in a big pot like this.

I went ahead and put all the canned tomatoes, salt & pepper in the pot and put it on medium low while the meat was finishing up.

Then I added the meat to the tomato mixture.

I then added the cabbage to the already hot skillet so it could wilt a little.

Added it all in to the pot and let it come to a boil then covered it and turned it down to a simmer and cooked it for 30 minutes.

It may not be pretty but it was super yummy and my son even liked it.

I say that is a win win!

Matt's gotcha day

Today is also Matt's Gotcha/Birthday.

He is thoroughly enjoying his new toy!
**don't mind the weeds ;)**

He showed up at our house on hubby's birthday 2 years ago and after a month of searching for his owner we "adopted" him as our own. He is such a sweetheart and he is Bub's buddy!

So today is his 4ish birthday :)

Happy Birthday To You

Today is my hubbies 40th bday!

He is not into parties or making a fuss about Birthdays so I am keeping it as low key as I can.

Made some brownies and then we are going out to dinner tonight.

Bub helped me create a banner. He had to add dinosaurs of course. If I had Godzilla in printshop Brad would have had a whole birthday banner/theme with him on it! ;)

Just a few presents and cards!

I can't wait til he opens this ginormous package :) Any guesses???
