OOOO I’m telling

This is where I slept last night, yeah I know it’s looks way comfortable right….

DSC01055

I took that nighttime stuff, ya know the one for sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, best sleep you ever got with a cold medicine.  Well I must have bought the wrong version because what I took was the cough your head off all night and get the worst sleep you have ever had medicine.. Yeah that one.

Anywho, when I finally managed to pry myself up this morning since ya know the child has to go to school and all and it interrupts my beauty rest…I still vote school does not start til 10, but no one seems to care what I think.

Well well look who jumps right in my spot and snoozes away…

blog 1

Oh yeah she thinks she in all comfy cozy now, but wait til I show Daddy and she gets in trouble for being in his chair….

blog 2

And this is her best “Your not really going to tell him, I’m getting down see.” look Blog 3

or maybe it’s “You woke me up with all your picture taking you psycho so I am getting down.” look…. I can never tell

Random Dozen

1. How good are you at delaying gratification?
Not so great, in regards to shopping if I see something and I want it I usually buy it if it is a reasonable price…  I am a thrifty shopper so if it is not on sale I usually do not buy it until it is on sale.
2. Maybe a marshmallow wouldn't be too difficult a temptation for you. What food (or anything else) would be most tempting?
Macaroni and Cheese
3. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being saintly) how patient are you?
4, I am not a very patient person, but I am working on it.

4. Have you ever waited for something in life only to be disappointed upon realization of the goal/object/etc.?
I am sure I have been, but I can’t think of anything at the moment.
5. Are you a person who takes shortcuts?
Depends on what the project is.
6. Which line is hardest to wait in?
Starbucks…..ahahahaha just kidding…..no I’m not……really ummm probably the lines at theme parks, because you usually have a very grumpy child with you who does not want to wait…..Happiest Place On Earth….Whatever.
7. Did you wait to discover the gender of your unborn child until its birth?
No I had to know because everyone (ahem…Patrice) wanted me to have a girl, but God feels our family just can’t handle that….My poor parents have all grandsons.

8. Are you more patient with children or the elderly?
Elderly

9. Did you ever sneak a peek at a present?
No, I like to be surprised

10. What is the longest you've ever waited for anything?
9 months and he was worth the wait l_a48284dbb05e4c7a81f4f21735a812a8 .

11. Who has more patience, you or your significant other?
My husband definitely has more patience than me.

12. Which of the following songs about waiting is your pick for the best? (OK, you may substitute another, if you like.)
A) Anticipation by Carly Simon
B) The Waiting by Tom Petty
C) Right Here Waiting for You by Richard Marx
D) Wait for Me by Rebecca St. James
I guess C, but I also like this song
wait for you by elliot yamin
because of the melody and it’s catchy.  And now that I have listened to it I will not be able to get it out of my head so let’s all dance….

ISO - Bloggography

The Challenge:
For this challenge turn your cameras mode dial to program mode (P). The camera will pick the shutter speed and aperture for you, you will just be adjusting the ISO. Try taking pictures in different ISOs. Remember no flash!

I used Lolli and Beth’s suggestions and did a toy photo shoot
I took these photos with my Sony Cybershot DSC-H20

Life Thoughts

LIFE THOUGHTS BY DUCKY

clip_image002

Marriage changes passion.
Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it.
So I said 'Implants?' She hit me.

How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When I was young we used to go 'skinny dipping,' now I just 'chunky dunk.'

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN !!

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

Wouldn't you know it....
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed outside?

Bumper sticker of the year:
'If you can read this, thank a teacher -and, since it's in English, thank a soldier'

And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper.. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

Life Is But A Dream

The Prompts:
2.) The strangest dream ever…
(inspired by Amo from Where A Woman Shakes Her Tablecloth.)
As most of you already know my best friend,Mindy, past away in 2007. After her death I would have these really strange dreams and I started writing some of them down at the suggestion of her cousin, so we could decipher them. This is one that was so real and eerily spooky at the same time..
I had this dream that Mindy was shaking me and telling me her father needs her, it was so real I was yelling at her to stop and struggling for her to let me go and when I woke-up I still felt like someone was shaking me. I went about my day and kept thinking about it and I just could not shake this overwhelming feeling, but I was like “I can not call her Mom, she is gonna think I have fallen off my rocker and then tell my mom and they will commit me to the funny farm, it was just a dream snap out of it you basket case”.
The next day I was cleaning and while I was in my bedroom I noticed there was these like iridescent things on the ground near my phone when I picked one up it was a turtle, (which just so happened to be Mindy’s favorite animal ever), and I don’t know where it came from..
soundboard.com
I said aloud “Fine I will call your parents”, because ya know I thought if I said it aloud she would quit leaving me presents in my house, which were freaking me out….
So I sat down on the floor and made the phone call. I told Mindy’s Mom about the dream and she said “Jenny I don’t want to freak you out, but the same day you had the dream Mindy’s Dad was told his kidney function was not good”, he only has one kidney so one not doing well was not good..

Random Dozen

1. So I was thinking about how Jon Bon Jovi never seems to age much. His hair is smaller nowadays, but he still manages to look like a boy somehow. And then that made me think of the story of Dorian Gray. Question: If you physically lock in one age for yourself, which would you choose and why?

22, not sure why I just like that I was skinny and did not have any gray hair, I mean I don’t have gray hair now or anything crazy like that ;)

2. What is the best dish that you cook or bake (your piece de resistance?)

Hmmm, I guess Lasagna

3. When you feel blue, what is one strategy you use to help yourself back to normal?

Go for a walk outside or watch a really funny movie.

4. When was the last time you danced in public?

Class Reunion maybe, it was a long time ago whenever it was.

5. Do you consider yourself a realist or dreamer?

Both, I know I am supposed to pick one, but I day dream a lot and then come back to reality.

6. As a parent, what is one thing that you have done well?

Well according to my son nothing, but I would say I am a good listener.

7. Which is your favorite character on the Andy Griffith show?

Barney Fife
8. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you know about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?

6

9. Have you never been mellow? Have you never tried … to find a comfort from in side you? (Sorry, Jorge was singing that song just now, and it just seemed to be perfect timing as I was creating this week’s questions.) REAL question: What is your #1 driving pet peeve?

Fashionably Late people, there is no such thing. Your late and it's annoying.

(I just re-read this question on Linda's page and realized it was a driving pet peeve...guess I need to follow directions better ;), I hate it when people do not use blinkers.)

10. Which color best represents your mood today? Care to elaborate?

Orange, I am going to remove all the Oranges from the trees that I think got ruined in the big freeze so it seems fitting..

11. If your spouse were an animal, which would he/she be?

Bear, soft and cuddly but stubborn.

12. What activity takes up the bulk of your time on an average day?

Laundry, just when you think your done another load magically appears.

Orange you glad I blogged today

ahahahahaha I crack myself up…..anywho………..

I need some insight or rather help (….no comments from the peanut gallery I know I need help in general but this is different)

Here is my dilemma, during the big Freeze 2009-2010 we were ill-prepared for what to do with our Orange Trees and now the leaves are all wilted.

DSC01030 DSC01031_picnik    DSC01032_picnik

I picked off all the Oranges today, some were okay while others were a gushy mushy mess.

Exhibit A

DSC01034

Exhibit B

DSC01033

So here is my question, will my trees be okay, do we need to trim them back ???

I am perplexed.  I might have a mini meltdown if they die.  Ya’ll saw what happened to my basil plant (if not go here Bloggography) and I am still highly irritated with myself that I forgot to bring it in.

So….Greg, I mean anyone who can help, Greg…..

Oh and Greg if you so happen to read this I need to know what to do with the lilies now that they are all wilted.  Do they need to be cut back ??

The Prompts:

1.) Time for your tangent…what is your latest complaint?
(inspired by Jill from I Don’t Want An Oscar)

DSC00998_picnik
I live in Florida and this pic was taken at 1:30 pm…enough said.
(Let Florida Go and Nobody Gets Hurt)…my toes are finally starting to thaw out, we are getting into the low 60’s today..woohoo

2.) If you could have given yourself a snapshot five years ago of what your life is like now, what would the picture be of and how do you think you would have felt about it?
(inspire by Sera from Laughing Through The Chaos)

image Hey it’s my snapshot…, but seriously I really don’t know I would probably tell myself that it is going to be okay and to cherish every moment of my son being little because he won’t be that way forever.

3.) What’s in YOUR name? What does it mean? Why was it given to you? etc..
(inspired by by Jade from Now That I’m No Longer 25…)

My name is Jenny, not Jennifer but I have to use the meaning of Jennifer which is White; fair; smooth…okay moving on. I was not named after anyone my Mom just liked the name. She was always quick to point out that it was not Jennifer, when someone would call me Jennifer, she always corrected them and would say “It’s just Jenny there is no fer in it.”

Let Florida Go and Nobody Gets Hurt

Seriously this cold weather is making me crazy. I can handle a freeze, even a hard freeze for a day or two, but for over a week we have been in the teens and 20’s at night and in the morning. My poor little toes are numb from it being so cold. I was literally drying clothes and using them as blankets til the next load was done yesterday…I’m a genius that way ;) I know quit my complaining, half of ya’ll have snow and are in the single or negative digits, but I am just not used to this type of weather. I would shrivel up and die with the grass if we were to see the single digits, because lets be honest Floridians wear gloves and scarves more for fashion statements then necessity. But there is sunshine on the horizon, we will be getting back to our normal weather this weekend and we can all thaw out.

(frozen fountain—I would go out and take more pics of all the frozen stuff, but I’m under a pile of laundry trying to stay warm)

Manic Mother
I live in Florida and although we usually don’t see much of a winter Mother Nature decided to play a cruel joke on us and give us some mighty frigid temperatures this year. (See my earlier post Let Florida Go and Nobody Gets Hurt ). Here is my winter photo. Yes this is my poor basil plant and now it is dead image .

Happy New Year

DSC00981

Bub tried to make it til the ball dropped, but sacked out at 11:45…sooo close.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years Day.
