Rain, Sunsets and Cuteness

This is one of my favorite shots of the rain this week, we have had some sunshine in between down pours.

After the rain one night this week.

I love this picture, just because he was so into the talent show at school and he sits just like my Dad. It was really dark in the auditorium and I still have not loaded up my photo program to lighten it..

Raffle Anyone & Writing

Mama Kat @ Mama's Losin' It

The Prompts:
1.) What is your life's anthem? You know...that song that is ALWAYS in your head. The one you'd go to sing first if someone told you to sing a song right NOW. What is it and what does it mean to you? (inspired by Tattooed Minivan Mom)
The Rest Is Still Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield or Legacy by Nichole Nordeman., because my life is still an open book with many empty pages to be filled and I hope I leave some sort of mark on this world for my son and others to remember me by even if it is a small mark.
2.) We love telemarketers don't we!?! Describe a memorable experience you had with one. (inspired by Literal Dan )
I usually just hang up on them, but I did have one where I had to explain telemarketing etiquette and how it was rude to call someone before 9 a.m., it was not very pretty.
3.) How much does focusing on weight affect your daily life? (inspired by Musings Of A Blond Mom)
Too much, I was anorexic when I was in High School and I have always been self conscious about the way I look, but not as much as I was back then...
4.) Describe in what ways you expect too much from your significant other. Do they deserve an apology? (inspired by Carty Party Of Three)
There are way too many to list, Yes he deserves an apology. Sorry honey.
5.) List ten things that make you HAPPY. (inspired by our irritation at our own complaining from last weeks "Sick Of" posts.)
I am Happy:
*that we have 5 days and 2 hours of school left ..woohoo
*I will soon be able to sleep past 7
*that my hubby still has a job, there are too many losing them these days
*that we are all healthy
*that my back is not hurting as bad this week
*that mother nature is at least letting us see the sunshine til 3 pm then the rain rolls in, but at least we have some sunshine.
*I have cookies.
*I have great friends, in real life and in blog world
*my family loves me
*that we have a pool for these hot summer months ahead
6.) Ok I was going to end it with five, but Laina just got out of bed as I was finishing this post and I SWEAR she is sleep walking. It's creepy. I keep asking her what she is doing and she's staring at me...but not directly at me...kind of just a centimeter to the left of my head. I KNEW she was a sleep walker. I just knew it. SO! Share a sleep walking story of your own!! (inspired by my scary four year old)
My son does talk in his sleep, but not enough to be memorable...

Manic Martha

**************************************************************************************
I don’t know if it was the rain last week or because I was craving donut products, but I went baking nuts last week regardless.
1st I baked the monkey bread, just so all my 30x5 buddies know I did not eat the whole thing, but the dent that it there is from me and only me :)
P1040531
Then I decided I need some Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip cookies, Like the Kitchen Aid I got for Christmas from my parents. I love it.
P1040532 P1040533
The pan is not dirty this was the second batch and I do not know who took a bite out of that cookie, because it certainly was not me ;)
P1040534 P1040535
Then because I want my bum to be the size of Texas by the time I eat some more of those Cookies and Monkey Bread, I made Spinach dip.
P1040536
Seriously I need some sunshine so I can go swim some laps and get rid of my blogger butt.

Blogger Issues: I can not read some of you posts since I use IE :(

I got this from Melinda at Bloggin' It From the 'Burbs:

“Seeing an 'Operation Aborted' error message when trying to load their blogs from Internet Explorer. We're looking into this and will update this message when we have a fix.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Update (May 26): We are still working on resolving this bug. This only affects viewers using IE to view the blog; for right now, blog owners can either move the Followers gadget lower in their sidebar, or remove it altogether. Either action will eliminate the pop-up dialog box in IE.
We will update this post when a fix has been made. — latest update on Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

I am thankful:

  • That we got rain, I know I have complained about it all week here and here, but we did need some rain just not buckets of it.

  • For my husbands job. I will probably be thankful for this every week since so many are losing theirs.

  • That my son loves his Mommy so much he wants to stay home with me everyday – it would not be because he is sick of school, it is because he wants to be with his Mommy ;)

  • That we only have 7 days, 2 hours and some odd minutes of school left after tomorrow…WooHoo

  • That the rain has subsided a bit and I see some brightness thru the clouds…Hallelujah

**Please read this post I did last week, it kind of got overlooked :)Julie @ blessed with five's awesome post - YOU KNOW YOU LOVE THEM, BUT DO YOU ALWAYS LIKE THEM?

Writers Workshop

Mama Kat @ Mama's Losin' It

Choose a prompt that inspires you most. Write about it and then go to Mama Kat’s page and link up on Thursday. I am doing them all….
The Prompts:
1.) Share a love letter.

What are those??? Just playin’ honey….no really huh?

2.) Memorial Day Weekend plans?? Do share!

I am hoping this rain clears up and we can go to the beach or have a barbeque and go swimming in the pool.

3.) List ten things you are currently sick of.(inspired by Jenny)

Rain and Gail Force Winds

School (I love my child’s school, I am just ready for summer)

Homework (my child complains about it daily)

Complaining (I know I do it a lot too, but that’s different avatar16.jpg cat wink image by patris0715 )

Vacuum Cleaner (just because & it hurts my back)

Dishwasher (does the dishes but I have to unload it therefore not my friend)

Laundry Basket (no need for explanation, it holds my arch nemesis - Laundry)

Washing Machine (well it does do all the work, but I still have to load it with laundry so yes I am a little irritated with it)

Dryer (because it holds the arch nemesis that I have to fold and it beeps at me way too much)

Have I mentioned Rain and Gail Force Winds ????

4.) Put an outfit together using pictures you found online and show us what you'd LIKE to be wearing today. (inspired by Lace) I know I did not exactly follow the rules on this one,but I was close right?? I could not find a picture of a bathing suit I liked.

I would love to be in a bathing suit laying out in the pool drinking a nice cool beverage, but instead I think I need to get me one of these cute rain coats and some rain boots to match. While I am at it I might need to get a boat and maybe some hot cocoa to go with my Monkey Bread, while I wait for the great flood to stop. I think I just saw Noah wave to me as he was passing by.

SunShower Raincoat
Land's End
was $79.50 now $55.65

5.) What have you been too busy to pay attention to? (inspired by Chris)

The beauty that we live in, I am so tied up in this whole rain mess, that I forget how much is it helping us. Like I told Bub yesterday, God must have thought we needed a little cleaning. I know when all this has cleared up everything with be so green and pretty. It has made me sit down and not run around as much and while I hate being cooped up at least I am resting my back, which I would not be doing if the sun was shining..

Rain, Rain Go Away

O.k. we needed the rain, but I am over it already. I love rain storms, but in tiny increments like an afternoon shower or when it starts raining at 8 p.m. and quits by 7 a.m. the next morning, but this is driving me nuts. It has been raining non stop since Sunday night and not just some little light rain, oh no it has been heavy torrential down pour rain with 30 mph winds or higher with the gusts and get this they are saying it will be like this til Friday. It is like tropical storm season in May….ughhhhhh…. My back is hurting and the sun is not shining. Ahhhhh, I just got a call, my nail appointment had to be rescheduled due to flooding..Nooooooo (just playin Tam I know it had to be done)…. I need some sunshine people…

If you look out the window you will see this:

P1040493

or this

P1040494

you say you would like a night view well here ya go (could not capture the rain due to the need for a new camera –hint hint Brad):

P1040504P1040506

Oh a view from the car while picking up Bub you say, I got some of those too:

And here is what I have been listening too since Sunday Night:

soundboard.com

When it rains I either sleep, just following Gingers Lead and all:

P1040490P1040498

or eat and I tend to want donut type products. I know it is not on my 30x5 plan, but I just can’t help it—if you could put a word in that I want the rain to stop maybe I will quit eating it. Monkey Bread – Yummy stuff.

Bub is enjoying playing video games, but he too is tiring from the rain and is ready for the great outdoors.P1040503

Look at the little project they made at school yesterday, fitting for this rainy week, it is in a plastic bag hanging on his bathroom window :)
