Patrice Update

Patrice is out of surgery and all went well, they are just waiting for her to get back to her room:)

**update--They are on there way home, Patrice is hurting a little and is sleepy, the doctors feel this should solve the problem**

I did not post this yesterday, because Patrice was terrified to go in for surgery. I thought it was funny, since she loves to look up all her ailments on the internet.

Thankful Thursday and 30x5

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey I am thankful:

1. For Good friends
2. An Understanding family
3. The rain we needed even if it gave me a migraine
4. Linda's idea for 30x5, motivated me to get movin'
5. Spring Break is next week..woohoo.. no school complaining for a whole week.

30x5 Update and Q&A
Here we are this morning, I am the shadow, no pics before noon rule remember;)

The ducks in our neighborhood, they like to sit in everyones yard waiting for food.

Ginger scared the mess out of this one, poor duck doesn't realize she can't see them and really does not care about them.. All she cares about is checking her p-mail and getting this walk over with so she can go home and take a nap. Here is it flying off because the ferocious beast Ginger walked past it.

This little weed scared Ginger half to death, she can't see very well as I have said before and I guess she thought it was a green monster out to get her, because she crouched and crawled past it. It is sad, but hilarious to watch.

Ginger also stopped and paused next to a car running in someones driveway as if to say, "maybe this nice person will drive me home because Mama has done lost her mind with all this walking, I mean who signed me up for 30x5, Not Me that's for sure"

Now for the Q&A from Linda's blog

1. What kind of moving around works/doesn't work for you
Walking it about the only thing that works for me.

2. What motivates you?
I feel guilty when I don't, plus I feel worn down, so I might as well just do it and get it out of the way

3. What effect this has had on you mentally?
hmmm, In a better mood after my walk and because this is fun finding out what everyone is doing everyday.

4. What effect it has had physically? You can share lbs lost or not. You can share changes in stamina or the way clothing is starting to feel different.
My friend Diane said to me today that it looks like I have lost weight, to which I responded, " I know don't I look great really".

5. What are your plans for the next 7 days? Are you still in?
We are going to Seaworld and a water park next week, so I will be getting a lot of 30x5.. Patrice will be updating my blog for me as time permits.

6. If anyone dropped by your blog to encourage you, did you like that? Did you encourage anyone else?
Of course, I love to get encouragement from my blogging buddies. I did harass encourage quite a few people as well.

7. Do YOU think Adam Lambert looks like Kurt/Elvis? (I ran out of questions temporarily.)
I do not watch AI, but from your post yes, yes he does..

8. Do you have any other goals you're trying to attain?
Loose my Tummy

9. Do you have any food tips to share?

Kashi bars and just try to eat 6 times a day instead of 3. I am not a health nut, so I like to eat whateve I want just not a lot of it.

10. Why are you glad that you decided to take this challenge?
It motivated me to start walking again, cause I was becoming a slacker in that department.

So let's have it: HOW WAS WEEK ONE OF THE 30 x 5 CHALLENGE??

Shew that was a long post..sorry about that:)

I chose #2

First let me say I have my imperfections just like everyone else and this one I am not proud of. A lot of people I volunteer with have said to me that I don't seem like the kind of person who would raise there voice or use the occasional not so nice language. The ones that know me well are laughing hysterically right now. Let me put it this way, I was chosen to be chaplain for the PFA at my sons school and my brother's response was, "I hope the school doesn't get struck by lightning". He was not being mean spirited he just knows me and all of my quirks. When I get frustrated or irritated I raise my voice and words fly out of my mouth that I don't even think are in the english language and my family likes to say, "Here comes Grandma". Don't get me wrong I loved my Grandma, but she could cuss like a sailor when she was mad. For the most part this is never directed towards anyone in particular, it is usually directed at myself because I have misplaced something or have done something stupid and I am just having a pity party for myself with a side order of profanity. I get the usual "potty mouth" from my husband and if my son is unfortunate enough to hear me he just gives me the look, you know the one where you wish you had a remote control like in the movie Click, so you can rewind and use a better choice of words. I am trying to stop and take a breather before said words come flying out of my mouth, but it is a work in progress. I know I will never be the perfect mom, wife, child or human being for that matter, but I can always try to be better.

I read this blog Learning to Fail Forward by Renee Swope after I had already written this and I have to agree.. We have to allow ourselves to Fail Forward.
