Week 8 – Wide Angle/Panorama Landscape

I have not had time this week to go out and find a good landscape to take a wide angle shot of I know total fail but this is one that I took & that I absolutely love from our trip to Cades Cove in 2016.

This image is by no means perfect but it’s the first time I have ever attempted to take a picture of the stars using a long exposure so pretty proud of myself!! Winking smile

Thoughts This Thursday

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” ~ Corrie Ten Boom

I am trying to say the above quote to myself repeatedly until I breathe it!!!

I have said before I am not a big news watcher. It’s all gloom & doom 24/7 or a constant rat race to see who can spread the biggest story like wildfire whether it is factual or not. So yesterday when the news hit about the school in south FL I was oblivious because I don’t watch it and had not opened my FB for the majority of the day. A friend messaged me and my heart just sank…NOT AGAIN!!!…I just don’t understand the senselessness of it all and it just makes me sick to my stomach that someone could care so little about another persons life that they would just steal it from them like that and for what….Seriously WHAT??

The quote below struck me today when I was looking for quotes for this post because although some would say it’s sticking your head in the sand sometimes I would rather be so unaware of all the chaos going on so I wouldn’t be so scared for my family, friends and this world we live in 24/7.

“People are supposed to fear the unknown, but ignorance is bliss when knowledge is so damn frightening.”
~ Laurell K. Hamilton, The Laughing Corpse

Week 5 – Landscape Black & White

Look for a scene with great contrast and turn it black & white.

Kinda cheated this week because I took this photos a while ago but I love it so I turned it black & white.

We were out on a hike to the river and when we arrived this was our view. So pretty!!

I did however take a picture of the moon this week and it is black & white soooo that counts too right…Winking smile

Week 4 – Headshot

Shoot a “selfie” of someone else.

I was shocked I did not have to do too much begging to get my son to pose for these.

Of course I got the fake cheese like MOM hurry up…

Wordful Wednesday - Rise From The Ashes

“Breathe in, breathe out. Without the fire, the phoenix never rises from the ashes. Let the fire scorch the skin and burn the soul, allowing yourself to absorb the pain and understand the sincerity of the pain. Breathe in, you are not the past, you are not the future; breathe out, you are simply each breath, the present moment. As you breathe in and breathe out, acknowledge all the trials you have overcome thus far, and that you can continue to overcome all else without doubt. Breathe in, breathe out.”

Makeup Monday–January 2018 Ipsy Bag

I am just gonna be honest this bag not the contents THE BAG is soo unfortunate…

Ipsy January 2018 - 10 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

I mean Just No I don’t get it??

The theme is Game Face and asking what will you concur this year soo maybe the bag is supposed to look like a tennis shoe? (Okay I just read the card in it’s entirety they teamed up with Candice Huffins who has an activewear line..yeah that makes sense now but still not loving it probably should have looked this up ahead of time but this is real time ya’ll)

Ipsy January 2018 - 8 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)Ipsy January 2018 - 9 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

Anywho It will be good for a gym bag so there is that. Let’s carry on to the good stuff.

I received:

A Real Chemistry fresh start foaming cleanser. I said in my last Ipsy post I don’t really stray from my Murad so I will probably let my husband use it or give it to a friend or family member. It is made with grapefruit and amino acids and smells really nice though. Full Size retails for $24.00

 Ipsy January 2018 - 6 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

Furless loose pigment in the shade Sneaky. This is very creamy and a really pretty purple. I don’t use purples too much cause something in them irritates my eyes but I do love how they look.  I will give this a go and hope it doesn’t cause any irritation and will report back if it does. Retails for  $18.00(IPSY10)

Ipsy January 2018 - 5 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

A waterproof gel eyeliner in the shade metallic green from Bellepierre cosmetics. I don’t wear green eye liner much so I did not open this yet since I may gift it to someone. Retails for $15.00 (IPSYGEL2017)

Ipsy January 2018 - 2 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

I received a really pretty brush from SLMissGlam. It is the L36 tapered highlight brush. I love the color and all the sparkles plus it is super soft. Retails for … well I guess this was exclusive to our Ipsy bag it seems Crying face but the tapered highlight brushes are sold in their brush sets and this unicorn brush set is super cute!

Ipsy January 2018 - 7 (Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

Lastly I received a mini The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. I already own this in a single and part of a set and I absolutely love this highlighter. If you don’t own it you should it gives the prettiest healthy glow. Full size retails for $24.00.

52 Week Photography Challenge

Since I started this challenge late per usual I am posting weeks 1-3.

Week 1 – Self Portrait

Here you were supposed to use your self timer on your camera to take a selfie. I was gonna cheat cause I have not been feeling the best these past few days and use this one that I took when we were at the river this past weekend.

Shadow Selfie At River (copyright Jenny @ Flutterbye Chronicles)

But I pulled myself together yesterday and broke out my Nikon remote that I have had for mmmm I’m gonna say 4 months and it was still in the package. Yeah I am not sure why I put off figuring that out for so long cause it took like not even 5 minutes to set up. Anywho here those are in all their glory and my thought process you’re welcome!Winking smile

“Oh here we go and as good as it’s gonna get!!”

Excuse my hideous hair it was still half wet and I had to cancel my hair appt this week because of the heebeegeebee’s that has taken over my body…being sick sucks!!Crying face

Week 2 – Traditional Landscape

This was pretty easy it just said to shoot a nice landscape and find a nice foreground to focus on and include the sky.

Week 3 – Red

We were supposed to shoot whatever inspires us with a focus on Red.

This was kinda hard. I had to walk around my house looking for something red that inspires me cause there is definitely nothing red outside right now in this cold. Then I saw it. Ornaments on my Great Aunt Helen’s Angel tree. She inspired me so much growing up. She was so confident in herself and did not take no crap from no one but she was also so young at heart and fun. She lived to be 92 and I miss her everyday!! When she passed away she left me her Angel Tree since I had given her most of the angel ornaments on it in years past for Christmas.

I love this little lady gardener fairy ornament

And this cute old cable car

But the Angels on the tree are my favorite and there are a bunch!

I can feel her presence when I am in that room with her tree and yes I keep it up year round!

Yay I am caught up!! Woot WootParty smile

Happy Friday Ya’ll!Camera
