Snack Time

This week question is what are some of your favorite healthy snacks?
1. Baked chips of any variety
2. Flat Earth, baked veggie crisps…they are good and they have 1/2 serving of Veggie in each serving. My son even likes them.
 Check this out:
It is a website by Frito Lay “where women can feel supported in their feelings about diets, beauty, snacking, exercise and body confidence.”
It has cute comic strips and snacking ideas.
3. Almonds or Peanuts
4. Carrots with Light Ranch, I can’t do the fat free ranch it’s gross..just keepin it real… or I mix low fat sour cream with a dried mix.  I like mixes from Archer Farms at Tarjay and Tastefully Simple
5. Kashi snack bars, they are delish
Kashi TLC Fruit & Grain Bars, Pumpkin Pie, 6.7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) Pumpkin Pie is my favorite
6. I almost forgot String cheese

Preview for next weeks topic...share one (or more if you are so inclined) of your favorite healthy recipes!

Yep I’m a slacker like that

I am late with my post, last week was a little hectic so I slacked on my blogging…My Bad
How are you going to handle vacationing this summer while sticking to the new healthy eating choices you have been making? Do you say forget it I’m on vacation, I will go back to healthy eating when I get home?
I am sad to say, but I do just take a mini eating healthy vacay when we go out of town.  We usually are going to be doing a lot of walking so I enjoy the good eats in the area we are visiting and just walk it off later.

Pennies Go A Long Way

Michelle Renee Bernard was kind enough to let our school use her water color of cotton candy for our schools penny drive.  We are in desperate need of a pavilion for our playground and we have raised over $1000.00 already…WooToTheWhoo

Check out Michelle’s blog:

Here are some of the pics.  The top 6 classes to raise the most money gets to have a cotton candy party.

Monday Grrrrrrr

My day started off with dropping a can of coke in the school parking lot and then it proceeded to spew coke from the bottom of the can everywhere so I am grabbing paper towels like a mad woman to try and stop it, finally got a cup and poured what was left of my drink in it…Grrrrrr

Then I leave the school and come home.  I step out of my car to find my headlight assembly dangling by a few wires from my car.

Grrrrrrr, I think I should go back to bed and try again tomorrow.

Best Shot

I have been messing around with my trial version of Adobe Lightroom
I used the Direct Positive Pre-sets with some photos I took at a butterfly garden near us and I think I am addicted….I think I might go into serious withdrawals when my 30 days runs out.

This weeks challenge/topic is to show off our fridge and pantry to see what we are eating and to mortify me.wink
I am a neat freak and this is just exposing all my nooks and cranny’s that I think are as messy as can be.
Here’s my pantry, really nothing interesting…Top Shelf Cereal, Crackers, Cheese Whiz that is still full and expired…Thanks Short Mama I did some tossing while I was doing the photo shoot….Girl scout cookies that also need to be tossed because I am sure they are stale and snacks for my sons lunch. Next shelf is for canned goods, side items and sauces.  Last shelf is all my sugar, flour, tea, etc canisters.
Onto the Fridge, Top shelf is Milk, Pineapple juice, a coke my son half finished and put back…I am sure it is flat, O.J., water bottle and some Margarita Mix for Cinco De Mayo, Champagne and I am not sure what is in the back??  Second Shelf is butter, Attune chocolate bars for digestion, sour cream and salsa for Cinco De Mayo as well, behind all that is pizza sauce and more salsa and biscuits.  The bottom shelf is Yogurt and Pita Bread.
Tortillas and lunch meats and cheeses
Grapes and sausage..my husband is a big nettles fan.
Lettuce, Potatoes and a lunchable I forgot I had…Thanks again Short Mama
Bub’s drink drawer…Just went to the Money Stealer and bought more
Onto the freezer:
Top Shelf Ice for my shaved ice machine and the next shelf is meats and fish.
Top Shelf is Veges and Bread I freeze for bread crumbs and some Pecans because Rachel Ray says they don’t spoil if you keep them in the freezer
Anywho, next shelf is Quick food, Grilled Chicken and skinny cow or something like that yogurt pops.  Bottom shelf is a whole bunch of ice cream, our local store keeps running these specials where if you buy a certain item you get all this other stuff free and I really wish they would change the dessert item because it is always ice cream and we just don’t eat that much of it.

So True and yep I’m still alive ☺

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8
Feet and Is entirely open at the top, the
Bird, in spite of its Ability to fly, will
Be an absolute prisoner. The reason is
That a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground
With a Run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space
To run, as is its habit, It will not even
Attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner
For life in a small jail with no top.

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a
Remarkable  nimble creature in the air,
Cannot take off from a level  place.
If it is placed on the floor or flat
Ground, all it can do is shuffle about
Helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it
Reaches some slight elevation from which it can
Throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it
Takes off like a flash.

mad bee
A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will
Be there until it dies, unless it is taken out.
It never sees the means of escape at the
Top, but persists in trying to find some way out
Through the sides near the bottom..  It
Will seek a way where none exists, until it
Completely destroys itself..

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and
The bumblebee. We struggle about with all our
Problems and frustrations, never realizing that
All we have to do is look up!  That's the
Answer, the escape route and the solution to any
Problem!  Just look up.

child looking up
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and

Trust in our Creator who loves us.
Sorry I have been MIA, but end of the school year functions are kicking my rear.
Guess this would be a good time to slow down and look up.
But all the running around is burning lots of calories..I have not forgotten about you my muffin top friends.  We can do this…..
